## FAQ

### Can I change or cancel my plan anytime?

Yes. Upgrades apply immediately and are prorated through Stripe. Downgrades and cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep Pro access until then. You manage this yourself in the dashboard billing portal. No sales call is required. If the 7-day trial ends without a subscription, the account moves to Free and keeps the same API key.

### Does MarketNewsAPI offer refunds?

No. MarketNewsAPI does not offer refunds. You can cancel in the Stripe billing portal, and a cancellation keeps Pro until the end of the period you already paid for. The 7-day trial requires a card. If you do not subscribe when the trial ends, the account moves to Free: 100 requests a day, a 15-minute delay, and the last year of history. Plan changes that do go through are prorated.

### Do you offer annual billing?

Yes. Pro is $162 a year, which works out to $13.50 a month. Monthly billing stays $15. You can switch between monthly and annual from the dashboard billing page. Both prices are in U.S. dollars, plus tax where it has to be collected. Annual and monthly Pro include the same REST, WebSocket, and MCP access.

### What happens if I exceed the Free plan's 100 requests?

Further requests that UTC day return HTTP 429 with the code daily_limit_reached until 00:00 UTC. Nothing is charged, and the key is not disabled. On Free, calls to /v1/usage and /v1/status do not count toward the 100. Upgrading to Pro lifts the daily cap immediately. Pro still has a burst limit of 20 requests per second.

### What does the 20 requests per second limit mean?

It is a burst limit per account, not a daily quota. You can make as many requests per day as the plan allows, but not more than 20 in any single second. If you go past it, the API returns HTTP 429 with a Retry-After header. WebSocket messages are not counted as REST calls. If a product needs a higher burst, email sales.

### Can I use the data in a commercial product?

Yes. Paid plans include use inside your own commercial apps, internal tools, and dashboards. Bulk redistribution of the raw feed, such as reselling it as your own news API, is not included. Publisher articles should be shown with a link back to the source. Press releases can include full text because those releases are written to be distributed. See the acceptable use policy.

### Which payment methods do you accept?

All major credit and debit cards, plus the wallets Stripe supports in your country, including Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Link. Invoices and receipts are emailed automatically. Billing is self-serve in the dashboard. There is no invoice-by-wire checkout on the public plans. Enterprise terms, if you need them, start with an email to sales.

### Do you have enterprise or redistribution plans?

The public Pro plan includes 3 WebSocket connections and a burst of 20 requests per second. If you need more connections, a higher burst limit, an SLA, or redistribution rights, email sales@marketnewsapi.com. Support questions go to support@marketnewsapi.com. Most teams start on the 7-day trial and write only if those limits are the blocker.

### Is there a free trial of the stock news API?

Yes. Signup starts a 7-day Pro trial, and a card is required. The trial includes real-time REST, WebSocket, and MCP, with no daily request cap. One trial per email. If you do not subscribe when it ends, the account moves to Free and keeps the same API key. Pro after the trial is $15 a month, or $162 a year.

### What is the difference between Free and Pro?

Free is 100 REST requests per UTC day, headlines delayed 15 minutes, and the last year of stock news. Pro removes the daily cap and the delay, searches the full archive, and adds the WebSocket and the MCP server. Pro is $15 a month, or $162 a year. Both plans share a burst limit of 20 requests per second.
