A Marketaux alternative for US stock news
Marketaux Basic is $29/month with a daily quota. A US-only news API at $15/month fits a different job.

Marketaux is a global financial news API: many markets, many languages, entity tags, and daily request quotas. It is the wrong product to replace if you need those markets. It is a reasonable product to replace if the app is US stock news in English and the quota is what you are paying for.
The split in one page
Global financial news API with entity tagging across 80+ markets. Basic is $29/mo Basic (2,500 requests/day, 20 articles/request). The compare page lists a $99 a month Pro tier at 25,000 requests a day. MarketNewsAPI Pro is $15 a month for US stock news with no daily quota, 100 articles per request, and a WebSocket.

When Marketaux is the right API
Stay if you need non-English news or coverage outside US stocks. The compare page credits Marketaux with 5,000+ sources, 80+ markets, 30+ languages, entity tags that include the matching passage, and market-stats endpoints. MarketNewsAPI does not sell that. Crypto, forex, and macro are not in this API today. The live product is US-listed equities and ETFs.
When a US-only feed is enough
Switch the news calls if the product is a US stock terminal, a ticker page, an alert bot, or an agent that answers "what was published about this symbol?" You give up the global corpus. You gain a stream, full-text press releases, and a price that does not step up with a daily cap.
Legal notices in this feed are shareholder class-action and investor-alert notices, returned as a headline, a summary, and a link. They are not an SEC filing archive. Say that in your own UI if you filter type=legal.
Try the US feed on the same tickers
Map a Marketaux call onto this one
Take a request you already run. Keep the ticker. Drop language and country filters, because this API does not offer them. Set type if you were mixing wires and publisher stories and only wanted one. Set limit up to 100. Marketaux's compare-page Basic plan lists 20 articles per request, so a page that used to need several calls can be one call here, up to that cap.
curl "https://api.marketnewsapi.com/v1/news?tickers=AAPL,MSFT&type=news,press_release&limit=20" \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $MARKETNEWSAPI_KEY"
Read tickers, summary, source, and url before you design a new card. The summary is one to three sentences, generated from the text the pipeline has, and it is the field to give an agent. The URL is the field to show a person. If published_at is your sort key, pass sort=published_desc or leave the default.
Try it for 7 days. Signup starts Pro. A card is required. Real-time REST, WebSocket, and MCP, with no request cap. After that it's $15/month, or Free if you stop.
Where the daily quota was hiding
Marketaux Basic is listed at 2,500 requests a day, and the $99 tier at 25,000 a day. A dashboard that refreshes 40 ticker pages every minute spends 57,600 requests a day before anyone clicks. That number is the refresh, not a guess about your traffic. Those pages should be a stream plus a cache, or they should be server-rendered from a store you filled once. Pro is built for the second shape: unlimited REST at a burst of 20 per second, and a socket so the ticker page does not poll.
Entities are on every article. Marketaux's compare-page strength is a tag plus the passage that matched. This API gives you the entity and the ticker. If you were highlighting the matched sentence from their payload, you will not get that sentence here. Link the source instead of reconstructing their snippet.
Run your current Marketaux ticker list against GET /v1/news for one session before you delete anything. Pro is $15 a month, or $162 a year. The 7-day trial includes the live feed and the full archive, and a card is required. Free stays at 100 requests a day, delayed 15 minutes, with the last year of history. Start at signup, then read the Marketaux compare page next to coverage.
