Free is enough to prove a REST query: 100 requests a day, a 15-minute delay, and the last year of history. Streaming and MCP need Pro.
Where do I start if I am not sure which guide fits?
Open the guide closest to the thing you are building, then run the quickstart. A trader who wants the wire copy should filter type=press_release. An agent should start with the MCP server or a single REST tool. A newsletter can poll REST on a schedule. The docs list every parameter if the guide skips one.

Do press releases use a different API?
No. Press releases, publisher stock news, and legal notices share one article schema and one API key. Request type=press_release for the wire copy, which includes full text. Request type=news for publisher reporting, and type=legal for shareholder alerts. Pro at $15 a month includes all three in real time. The 7-day trial does too.
