Frequently asked questions
How fast does MarketNewsAPI reply?
Support usually replies within one business day. Use the form on this page or email the address in the sidebar. Include the topic, whether it is the API, billing, a bug, or coverage, and the key name if a request failed. Status of the API itself is on the status page and refreshes from GET /v1/status. A down component is not a support delay.
Who do I email about billing or enterprise access?
Billing changes are self-serve in the dashboard through Stripe. For a failed payment or a receipt, email [email protected]. For more than 3 WebSocket connections, a higher burst limit, an SLA, or redistribution rights, email [email protected]. To reach Adrian Hale directly, write [email protected]. Public Pro stays $15 a month, or $162 a year. MarketNewsAPI does not offer refunds.
Where do I check if the API is down?
Open the status page before you write in. It checks the REST API, the WebSocket, and the MCP server, and it refreshes about every 30 seconds. Times on that page are Eastern Time. A 15-minute delay on the news desk for signed-out and Free users is the plan, not an outage. Pro sees that desk live.
Can I request a source or a ticker?
Yes. Choose Data coverage request on the form and name the publisher, wire, or symbol. Coverage today is English-language US equities and ETFs: stock news, press releases, and legal notices, with the full archive on paid plans. Crypto, forex, and macro are not in the feed. A request does not add the source by itself.
How do I get an API key?
Create an account and the dashboard issues a key. Signup starts a 7-day Pro trial, and a card is required. The key works on REST immediately. WebSocket and MCP are included during the trial and on Pro at $15 a month. If the trial ends without a subscription, the same key stays on Free: 100 requests a day and a 15-minute delay.
