Crypto, forex, and macro news
GET /v1/news now accepts category=crypto, category=forex, and category=macro. The same fields, plans, and key as stock news. Omitting category still returns stocks.
MarketNewsAPI now stores cryptocurrency, foreign-exchange, and macroeconomic headlines beside stock news. They use the same article, the same plans, and the same key. A request that does not set category still returns stocks.
How do I query them?
On GET /v1/news, pass category=crypto, category=forex, or category=macro. Leave category off, or set category=stocks, and the response stays on equities and ETFs. The WebSocket channels are category:crypto, category:forex, and category:macro. all includes every category. MCP takes the same category values.
These articles are publisher headlines. type is news. body is filled when the article page can be read. Press releases and legal notices stay on category=stocks.
Which plans include them?
Free and Pro both include the new categories. Free is delayed 15 minutes and limited to the last year, on every category. Pro, including the 7-day trial, is real time and can search the archive. The article fields are the same as a stock article.
