Categories and types are the filters, in REST and on the stream.

Types

Filter with category=stocks&type=press_release. pressRelease is accepted as an alias and implies category=stocks. |
legal | Shareholder class-action and investor-alert notices from law firms. Separated from stock news and press releases, the same way Vantafin keeps them out of the default feed. |
Stocks are divided into those three types, the same split Vantafin uses. Stock news is category=stocks&type=news (Vantafin calls this stockNews). Press releases are category=stocks&type=press_release (pressRelease). Legal notices are category=stocks&type=legal. The homepage feed shows stock news and press releases by default and leaves legal off until you turn it on. Over the API, legal notices are included unless you filter them out with type=news,press_release. type=press_release on its own is limited to stocks.
type=stock_news and type=stockNews are aliases that return stock news only. type=pressRelease is an alias of press_release.
