Connect MarketNewsAPI to Claude

Claude connects through a custom connector. You sign in to MarketNewsAPI once and approve access. No key to paste.

The MCP server is part of Pro, including the 7-day trial. Server URL: https://mcp.marketnewsapi.com/mcp

Set it up

  1. In Claude, open Settings → Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
  2. Name it MarketNewsAPI and paste the server URL: https://mcp.marketnewsapi.com/mcp.
  3. Click Add, then Connect. A MarketNewsAPI window opens.
  4. Sign in and click Allow. You're returned to Claude with the tools enabled.
  5. In a chat, open the tools menu to check MarketNewsAPI is switched on, then ask a question.
Custom connectors are available on Claude's paid plans. On Team and Enterprise, an owner may need to add the connector first. Connectors you add on claude.ai also appear in the Claude desktop and mobile apps.

Try it

Ask something that needs current news, for example:

  • “What's the latest news on NVDA and AAPL?”
  • “Find press releases about semiconductor stocks from last week.”
  • “Read the full Microsoft buyback press release and list the key numbers.”
  • “Give me a briefing on what moved markets overnight.”

Or start from one of the built-in prompts, such as morning_briefing.

Troubleshooting

  • 401 / “couldn't connect”: the key is wrong or revoked, or the OAuth sign-in didn't finish. Check your keys in the dashboard and reconnect.
  • 403: the key belongs to a Free account. MCP needs Pro.
  • Tools don't appear: restart the app after editing config files, and make sure the JSON is valid.
